Shoulder
The shoulder girdle is composed of the clavicle and the scapula, which articulates with the proximal humerus of the upper limb. Four joints are present in the shoulder: the sternoclavicular (SC), acromioclavicular (AC), and scapulothoracic joints, and glenohumeral joint.
Symptoms :
1. Shoulder Pain: Dull ache or sharp pain, often worsened with movement.
2. Limited Range of Motion: Difficulty moving the arm or shoulder.
3. Stiffness: Reduced flexibility in the shoulder joint.
4. Weakness: Decreased strength, especially during overhead activities.
5. Swelling: Inflammation around the shoulder joint.
Causes:
1. Rotator Cuff Tears: Injuries to the rotator cuff tendons.
2. Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis): Stiffness and restricted movement.
3. Shoulder Impingement: Compression of tendons and bursa in the shoulder.
4. Shoulder Dislocation: Displacement of the humerus from the shoulder socket.
5. Bursitis: Inflammation of the bursae, often due to overuse.
